About the Job
At the Butler Center, boys (ages 12-21) with emotional and mental health diagnosis are able to develop and practice strategies that will enable them to manage their behavior. Treatment is delivered by a multidisciplinary team comprised of licensed clinicians, educators (with certification in Special Education), and specially trained Youth Counselors with an ultimate goal of boys in our service returning safely to the community.
The Butler Center seeks candidates for Residential Counselor positions. Responsibilities would include interacting and communicating with residents, staff, families and collaterals in a professional manner. Conducting and transporting residents to scheduled recreation activities. Completion of shift paperwork including reports, communication, incident reports or special plans. Follow and implement all treatment plan addendums or special plans. Attend scheduled staff meetings. Direct shift coverage as required (may include emergency or crisis staff shortages). Attend all required trainings as scheduled.
- Previous work experiences with adolescent/residential/inpatient a plus
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Acceptable driving record and state/federal background checks
